The human mind is the idea of the human body — not a separate soul, but the mental expression of your physical being.

For Spinoza, your mind is not a ghost in a machine. It is the idea that corresponds to your body under the attribute of Thought. When your body is affected by external things, your mind has ideas of those affections. The complexity of your mind mirrors the complexity of your body. Mind and body do not interact causally — they are the same thing described two ways.
Why it matters
This dissolves the mind-body problem by denying the premise. There is no interaction to explain because mind and body are not two things. This also means improving your body's capacity improves your mind's capacity.
